This is a sanding ball that I made years back, when needed it was clamped in my Hamlet big brother handle in order to reach inside large hollow forms.
Simon Hope from Outback Timbers recently produced his much superior version. It is excellent for reaching inside those awkward lips and shapes, I have modified mine a little and made various wooden shapes each with recessed nut and sticky backed velcro. These are attached to extra lengths of studding and when a special shape end is required it simply screws to the sanding ball with a 12mm coupler.
If you have a Simon Hope sanding ball here is a tip, standard garden hose fits nicely over the studding and makes it more robust and easier to use on a tool rest.
Next time I see Simon I will take some studding and couplers so if you are interested in modifying yours e-mail me or Simon - see Links page for e-mail address.
